A little clarification, though:
The 1.4% figure you mention was only on the audited figures (not total) and the reason for the &quot;decrease&quot; was clearly due to the strong INCREASE in audited print over the same period. Rather than reflective of the industry, I tend to think that particular graph indicates some large titles beginning to audit. (As evidenced by the fact that no other data seems to indicate 300% growth among b-to-c magazines.)

Nevertheless - your point is well taken: penetration among b-to-c titles is a little higher than 3% (compared to 15% for b-to-b), and I agree: the digital magazine is only one of many strategies publishers need to consider.

Like anything else, too, the publishers that feel they&#039;ve &quot;run their course,&quot; have often done little to ensure their success. All of these initiatives take focus and energy. Without them, success is drastically limited.
